eSIM setup comprises two steps - installation and activation. Feel free to install the eSIM to your compatible device whenever possible. However, to activate the chosen eSIM bundle, ensure you are in the location covered by your eSIM.
We recommend installing eSIM before you depart for a new adventure and activating the service upon arrival in the destination country.
Installation
Method 1. Using a Direct eSIM Installation Link
If your devices run iOS 17.4 or above, use a Direct eSIM Installation Link available in your Keepgo account.
Use your iOS divide to find the link in your account. Tap on the eSIM line you want to install > More Details > Installation Methods > Direct eSIM Installation Link. The eSIM profile will automatically install on your device.
Method 2. Using a QR Code
Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular plan, position the QR code in the frame, Scan the QR code, and select OK.
If your devices run iOS 17.4 or above, you can install eSIM without scanning the QR code.
- Open Safari browser and log in to your Keepgo account.
- Open the QR code, press on the QR code and hold it for at least 2 seconds.
- Click on "add eSIM" option.
* The eSIM QR code is unique and can be installed only once. If you have lost or changed your device or removed the eSIM accidentally, you need to purchase a new one. We will support transferring the unused data to your new line. You can contact us via chat on our website - https://www.keepgo.com/ or email support@keepgo.com, and we will assist you with any issue.
Method 3. Using an Activation Code
If your device can't scan the eSIM QR code, you can manually add your account using the provided activation code (LPA).
Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular plan > Choose "Enter Details Manually" (located under the scanner > Enter the following details:
- SM DP + Address: XXX
- Activation Code: YYY
Activation
Once the eSIM is added to your device, please follow the instructions below to activate the eSIM plan in your iOS device settings and start using the data right away.
1. Turn on your eSIM under Cellular/Mobile Plan.
2. If you want to use both your lines, turn on “Allow Cellular Data Switching” from Cellular/Mobile data menu. Meanhwile, if you want to use only Keepgo eSIM, then turn it off to avoid charges on your other line.
3. Enable Data Roaming (Please turn off your primary line to avoid roaming charges from your carrier provider when overseas).
*You will not be charged with any extra payments by us with Data Roaming option On.
Change the Label of Your eSIM Line
On your phone, label the eSIM as «Keepgo_bundle_name." This will help clearly identify the eSIM on your device, improving the efficiency of our support services.
To change an eSIM label on an iOS device, go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > select the eSIM you want to edit > tap "Cellular Plan Label" and enter a custom label.
